Neighbors helping Neighbors has always been a tradition here in the Northeast GA.  Today many people just dont know their neighbors. They dont know whose grandmother needs medicine, whose little girl is hungry, whose house caught fire, who really needs a hand and who is telling them a story. Caring Hands Ministries provides a way that people with caring hearts can reach out to help and can be sure their help goes to people who have real needs, This is our 12th year of helping people here in the NE GA Mountains.  We verify the facts, talk to the power company, the landlord, to verify employment, make sure the need is real and find out how it happened, what can be done to help and try to be sure that it wont happen again. We become your hands reaching put to make a difference for your neighbors.

 2005-06 Community Caring Award

Truitt McConnell College for all the many things they do to help make Northeast GA a better place to live.  Truitt McConnell donated the use of their Dining Hall facility for the 2005 Caring Hands Community Christmas Dinner.  They agree that no one should be hungry or lonely on Christmas Day.  This allowed us to provide food for over 500 plus toys and clothing and household necessities.  A wonderful crew of volunteers came out to help.

Special recognition goes to Terry and Lafaye Murphy who originated the idea for the dinner in 2003 and have directed it , recruited volunteers, helped secure the necessary food, clothes toys, etc. and to Troll Tavern whose owner and staff devoted their Christmas Day to help with the 2005 dinner and to "Pappy Kenneth" who has come out to bless everyone with songs and stories the past 2 years.

2004 Business Sponsor of the Year   Ray Black of Cleveland Drug Company

He was also our sponsor of the year in 2001.  THANK YOU RAY GOD BLESS YOU

Caring Hearts

"We want to help" That was our introduction to Bob and Kathy Summerfield. They had read about Caring Hands on our web page and it touched their hearts. Would it be OK if they sent a check every month? What did we need them to pray about? Bob and Kathy have been faithful supporters financially and in prayer every month. I am not sure they had even heard of Cleveland GA before God put this in their hearts. They have been a blessing to us and to the people they have made it possible to help.  We are including them on our web page not only to recognize their caring but also to represent all the other people who care and reach out through Caring Hands and in other ways to make a difference when someone needs their help the most.

You're never too old or too young to care
HURTING HAS NO AGE LIMIT - NEITHER DOES HELPING
I CARE AWARDS Recognizing people who make a difference 2007 Rev. Victor Lamar Johnson of Veterans and Community Outreach in Gainesville is a champion for those in trouble teaching them how to become strong and overcome. 2006 Wendy Franklin and Ed Sanders, Wendy volunteers as Youth Director at LAMP Ministries which reaches out with Jesus love to children and teens others have given up on. Many of these kids are finding their way out of gangs, abandonment, drugs, abuse and more. She is also an officer at RYDC so she sees first hand what happens to kids for whom there is not a program like LAMP.

Ed is always there to help it seems. Not just for Caring Hands but for his church for people in crisis for men who need to change their lives. Only the Lord knows all that Ed does 2005 Hilda Reyes of Gainesville Fran and Wendell Jones of Wendell's in Cleveland. When we told Fran that they were the award recipients Fran said "We don't do anything just what we can do." That is the whole point of this award. To recognize people who just do what they can do to make someones life a little better, to give them a chance to help themselves, to show Gods care and not expect anyone to notice. Jesus told us that whatever we do for the least ones we do for Him.
